Seamans, 72, died Saturday evening May 21, 1994 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River, Jct., Vt.\u00a0 He was born in Grafton, NH Jan. 28, 1922, the son of the late Archie L. &amp; Carrie (Walker) Seamans.\u00a0 He attended local schools and was a U.S. Army AirCorps Veteran of WWII.\u00a0 He was married to Thelma (Hall) on July 1, 1945.\u00a0 He has resided in Grafton all his life and was employed by Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon as a machinist until his retirement in 1988.\u00a0 He was a member of the American Legion; the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the National Rifle Association; the N.H. Trappers Association; and was an avid hunter and fisherman.<\/p>\n<p>Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the East Grafton Congregational Church.\u00a0 Burial followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton, N.H.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include: his wife, Thelma (Hall) Seamans of Canaan; stepmother, Sadie Seamans of West Canaan; a daughter, Sandra Barker of Enfield; a son, Thomas Seamans of Grafton; a daughter, Anita Seamans of Grafton; a son, Alan Seamans of Grafton; a daughter, Elaine Stone of Enfield; a son, Howard \u201cChip\u201d Seamans of Grafton; a sister, Velma Hines of Canaan; a brother, Robert Seamans of Concord; a sister, Phebe Belloir of West Canaan; a brother, Kernal Seamans of Canaan; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.\u00a0 He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.<\/p>\n<p>The Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon was in charge of arrangements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>from the June 1, 1994 issue of The Country Chronicle Grafton, N.H. &#8211;Howard A.
