Enfield, NH–Robert Archie Packard, Sr., 53, died on Wednesday, November 29, 1995 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.\u00a0 The son of Donald A. and Dororthy F. (Decato) Packard, he was born on July 17, 1942 in Hanover, NH.\u00a0 He has resided in the Lebanon-Enfield area all his life and was a graduate of Lebanon High School class of 1960.\u00a0 He was married to Marilyn Morin on July 4, 1959.\u00a0 Mr.\u00a0 Packard worked as a truck driver most of his life.\u00a0 He had been a mechanic for Decato Brothers Trucking for several years.\u00a0 He also worked for the City of Lebanon Highway Department as a truck driver and a snow plow operator.\u00a0 He later became a self-employed subcontractor as a truck driver-snow plow operator for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department.\u00a0 For the past 25 years he has driven his truck for Lebanon Crushed Stone.\u00a0 He was a member of the Future Farmers of America and served on the Enfield Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.\u00a0 He was involved in area stock car racing from 1959 until the loss of his leg in 1994.\u00a0 He enjoyed hunting and fishing.<\/p>\n
Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Enfield on Friday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. and Friday evening from 7-9 p.m.\u00a0 A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St.\u00a0 Helena’s Church in Enfield.<\/p>\n
Survivors include:\u00a0 his wife, Marilyn Packard of Enfield, NH; his mother, Dorothy F. Packard of Lebanon, NH; a son, Mark Packard of Orange, NH; a sister, Marie Jenkins of Lebanon, NH; five grandchildren, plus aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.\u00a0 He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A.\u00a0 Packard who died in 1983 and a son, Robert A.\u00a0 Packard Jr.\u00a0 who died March 6, 1991.<\/p>\n
