Enfield, NH–William L. “Bill” Stone Jr., 62, died Thursday, December 21, 1995 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.\u00a0 He was born in Hanover, NH, November 7, 1933, the son of the late William L.\u00a0 and Margaret (Merrill) Stone Sr.\u00a0 and had been a lifelong area resident.\u00a0 He attended Hanover schools and was a graduate of Hanover High School.\u00a0 Following his military service with the United States Air Force, he went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire in 1933.\u00a0 For many years he was employed as a civil engineer for LeClair Associates of Hanover, NH.\u00a0 He was an accomplished athlete and had competed in hockey, football, and baseball while attending UNH, and later was a grade school coach in basketball and baseball.\u00a0 He was a member of the Enfield Lions Club and the Mascoma Boosters.<\/p>\n
There were no calling hours.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, December 30th at 11 a.m. at the St.\u00a0 Helena’s Church in Enfield with burial following in the Pine Knoll Cemetery in Hanover, NH.<\/p>\n
The family suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to:\u00a0 The Enfield F.A.S.T. Squad, Enfield, NH\u00a0 03748 or the Canaan F.A.S.T. Squad Canaan, NH\u00a0 03741.<\/p>\n
Arrangements were under the direction of the Ricker Funeral Home of Lebanon, NH.<\/p>\n
Survivors include his wife, Ruth A.\u00a0 (Brawn) Stone of Enfield, NH whom he married August 27, 1960; a daughter, Martha Lynn Dignazio of Lowell, MA; a son, Robert Louis Stone of Enfield, NH; a brother, Joseph E.\u00a0 Stone of Deerfield, NH; a sister Beverly Potwin of Lebanon, NH; a sister, Beverly Dart of Tariffville, CT; a sister, Mary Rexford of East Burke, VT, two grand-daughters, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
