Enfield, NH–Herbert Britton King, 88, died Monday July 22, 1996 at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport, NH.\u00a0 He was born in Waterford, CT June 7, 1908, the son of the late Dana & Addie (Britton) King and had lived most of his life in the Upper Valley.\u00a0 He had worked at the Enfield Box Co.; The Baltic Mills of Enfield; and in his retirement drove a bus for the Lebanon Street School.\u00a0 He thoroughly enjoyed people, fishing, playing cards, gardening and\u00a0 camping.\u00a0 He will be remembered in Enfield Center as selling his roadside veggies with his little white poodle “Scampy.”<\/p>\n
Burial will be at a later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield, NH.<\/p>\n
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to:\u00a0 Mascoma Home Health Services, Main Street, Canaan, NH 03741 or to: The Enfield F.A.S.T. Squad, Enfield, NH 03748.<\/p>\n
Survivors include;\u00a0 Sons: Harry King, Newport, NH, Glen King, Enfield Center, NH, Richard King, Enfield, NH; Daughters:\u00a0 Yvonne Pollard, Enfield, NH, Marie Bean, Enfield, NH; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 1 cousin and ! niece.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia M.\u00a0 King, who died March 24, 1988; a daughter, Alice Louise King who died in infancy; and a sister, Gladys Goldenbaum who died in 1957.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
