Enfield, NH–Pansy Hattie Sawyer, 76, passed away on November 30, 1996 at her home on Prospect St. in Enfield. The daughter of the late Carl and Ida (Bressett) Smith, she was born in Hanover on February 23, 1920. She attended school in Lyme, Hanover, and Enfield and went to work at a young age at the Baltic Woolen Mill in Enfield. After working in the mill for 30 years, she became supervisor of linen service at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover where she worked until she retired in 1990. She was married to Roland Sawyer on October 3, 1947. She loved animals and took many strays into her home and cared for them. She also loved and cared for her grandchildren in her home.<\/p>\n
Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Enfield on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cecilia Engelhardt officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield.<\/p>\n
Survivors include: her husband, Roland Sawyer of Enfield; a son, Richard Bill of Enfield; a sister, Daisy Wells of Enfield; a sister Lottie Columbia of Enfield; a brother, Chauncey Smith of Canaan; a brother, Peter Smith of Satatoga Springs, NY; three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
