Kilton, 30, died Monday evening, December 25, 1995 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a long battle with cerebral palsy.\u00a0 He was born in Claremont, NH December 9, 1965 and had been a resident of the Upper Valley for most of his life.\u00a0 He attended Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center and later received a diploma from Lebanon High School.\u00a0 He had been a resident of Horseheads, NY for few years prior to returning to Lebanon in September of this year.\u00a0 He was a past member of the Crystal Valley Grange of Dundee, NY and attended the West Lebanon Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<p>Peter had a big heart and loved people.\u00a0 He wrote poetry and had recently printed his first book entitled &#8220;The Snowbird Flies.&#8221;\u00a0 He had participated in the Special Olympics where he received several awards in bowling, 2nd place in the wheelchair race, and a gold medal for the softball throw.<\/p>\n<p>Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m.\u00a0 Funeral services were conducted on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the West Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev.\u00a0 Dean Eggert officiating.\u00a0 Burial followed in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial contributions can be made to the:\u00a0 West Lebanon Baptist Church, 114 Seminary Hill, Lebanon, NH\u00a0 03784, or to the organizations involved with cerebral palsy support and research.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include:\u00a0 his mother, Elizabeth M. (Braley) Kilton of Lebanon, NH; his father, Roy A.\u00a0 Kilton of Lebanon, NH; a sister, Pamela Coburn of Ulysses, PA; a sister, Karen Kilton of East Dover, VT; a brother, Kenneth Kilton; many aunts and uncles including a great-aunt, Martha Perkins of Lyme, NH; a maternal grandmother, Dorothy Braley of Canaan, NH; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Vivian Kilton of Canaan, NH; two nephews and many cousins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>from the January 3, 1996 issue of The Country Chronicle Lebanon, NH&#8211;Peter F.
