Jerome T. “Jerry” Wood

White River Jct., VT–Jerome Thomas “Jerry” Wood, 67, died at his home Thursday, March 20, 2003. He was born in Hartland, VT August 21, 1935, a son of the late Ralph M. & Regis (Daley) Wood and was a graduate of Hartford (VT) High School-Class of 1953. He was married to Karleen (Dawson) Wood for 45 years. Mr. Wood retired from the Vermont Transportation Dept. in 1997 after 31 years of service.

Jerome was a lifelong member of the NRA and was a true outdoorsman. His loves were his family, his camp, his garden, hunting, yard sales, reading, and tinkering on his many tractors.

He was predeceased by a son, Ethan A. Wood, a brother, John and a sister, Rita Kraljevich.

Survivors include his wife Karleen; 2 sons: Mark J. of Berwick, ME and Nathan T. of Lebanon, NH; 2 daughters: Jennifer W. Kerl of White River Jct., VT and Theresa J. Wood of Milton, NH; 6 brothers: Thomas, Mark, Peter, Paul, Richard and Raymond; a sister, Regina Gaudreau; 6 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins including Lance Williams of Hartland, VT.

Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School St. in Lebanon, NH on Saturday morning, March 29 from 11 to noon with a Memorial Service following in the funeral home. Private burial services will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Wood be made to: The Hartford Alumni Assoc., PO Box 891, White River Jct., VT 05001.

Margaret Helen C. Zvacs

White River Jct., VT–Margaret Helen C. Zvacs, 59, of White River Jct., VT passed away June 19, 1995 at the D.H.M.C. in Lebanon, NH after a very long illness.

She was born February 16, 1936 in Newburyport, MA.  The daughter of the late Frank A. Currier and Ruth C. Bean.  Her husband Floyd Zvacs died in December 1985.  She was a homemaker and mother of four daughters:  Helen LaPlaca of Lebanon,  NH;  Mary Ann Cheney of Canaan, NH;  two sons:  Clude Tardie of Wilder, VT;  Perley Smith III of Gorham, VT;  four sisters:  Phyllis Snedeker of Pittsfield, NH; Barbara Lewis of Canaan, NH; Joan C. Adams of Yuma, AZ; Betty Hartford of Franklin, NH; one brother, George A. Plante of Rockford, MI; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Fletcher of Grafton, NH; ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The cremation and graveside services were held on June 24, 1995 at 10 a.m. at the West Farms Cemetery in West Canaan, NH.  Knights Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
