Raymond Everett Estes Sr.

Canaan, NH–Raymond Everett Estes Sr., 72, died Monday morning May 24, 1999 at the Hanover Terrace Healthcare Center in Hanover, NH. He was born in Lebanon, NH on October 19, 1926, the son of the late Everett A. & Grace E. (Bassett) Estes. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. A lifelong Upper Valley resident he had been a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) at the Veterans Hospital in White River Jct., VT for over 36 years. He later was employed by the Lebanon Key Shop for several years, and also enjoyed rock collecting. He was married in White River Jct., VT on Sept. 1, 1948 to Dorothy Edna (Carter) who died July 14, 1993.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside Committal Services will be held Thursday morning at 11am at the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon, NH with the Rev. John Crilley officiating.

The Ricker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Edith Myrtle Chesley

Lebanon, NH–Edith M. Chesley, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a brief illness. She was born in Mascoma (Lebanon), NH Feb. 28, 1915, the daughter of Everett & Grace Estes. She was married to Boyd Jerome Chesley Sr. on June 29, 1947.

Edith worked at the Enfield Woolen Mill for 37 years, and later worked for Split Ball Bearing for 8 years until her retirement. A longtime sportswoman, for her love for hunting and fishing was well known in the Upper Valley by many outdoorsmen. She was a past member of the Lebanon Emblem Club. Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School St. in Lebanon, NH Thursday evening from 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 10 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon. Dorothy Edna Estes

Dorothy Edna Estes, 59, died at her home Wednesday morning July 14, 1993.  She was born in West Lebanon, NH Feb. 10, 1923, the daughter of the late William G. & Leola G. (Brown) Carter.  She has been a lifelong resident of the Upper valley having lived in Hartland, Mascoma, and most recently in Canaan.  Her favorite hobby was needlework.  She was married to Raymond Everett Estes Sr. in Sept. 1, 1948 in White River Jct., VT.

Graveside Committal Services were conducted Monday morning July 19, at 10 AM in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Estes, Jr., Enfield, NH; Sister, Gladys Rivers, Brandon, VT; Sister, Ruth Chaffee, Windsor, VT; Sister, Elsie Cooley, Middlebury, VT; Sister, Lillian Ekroo, Bristol, VT; 1 Grandson: Raymond E. estes III; several nieces, nephews & cousins.
