Dorothy F. Packard

Lebanon, NH–Dorothy F. Packard, 79, died Wednesday evening February 7, 2001 at the Lebanon Center of Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH following a long illness. She was born in Canaan, NH November 13, 1921, and was the last surviving of 9 children home to the late George & Lucy (Senacal) Decato. A resident of Lebanon for most of her life, she attended local schools and was married to the Donald A. Packard who died in 1983. She had been employed by the former Rockdale Store and by KLEEN Laundry of Lebanon Emblem Club and a longtime volunteer at the Lebanon Senior Center. She loved baking, crocheting and many other crafts.

She was predeceased by her husband: Donald A. Packard; Son: Robert A. Packard Sr.; 2 sisters: Stella Williams and Etta Fontaine; 6 brothers: Eugene Decato, James Decato, Edgar Decato, Forest Decato, Harry Decato and Clarence Decato; and a grandson: Robert A. Packard Jr.

She leaves 2 daughters: Stella Butterfield of Canaan, NH and Marie Jenkins of Lebanon, NH; 4 granchildren: Mark Packard of Orange, NH, Donald Butterfield of Canaan, NH, Daniel Butterfield of Royal Oaks, MI and Jeffrey Jenkins of Lebanon, NH; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School St. in Lebanon, NH Sunday from 3-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 11 am in the Sacred Heart Church of Lebanon. Burial will be in the spring in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy be made to: The Lebanon Senior Center, PO Box X33, Lebanon, NH 03766 or to: The American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal St., Manchester, NH 03101.

Evelina M.A. Packard

West Lebanon, NH–Evelina M.A. Packard, 89, of Lebanon, died Friday, February 7, 1997 in Lebanon. The daughter of George & Anna (Couture) Levesque, she was born on May 30, 1907 in Lisbon, ME. She had lived in Claremont for many years where she attended St. Mary’s School. She had been a resident of this area since 1930 when she married Hersey Packard. Mr. Packard died on May 29, 1988. She was employed for many years in the patients service kitchen at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover until retirement in 1981. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in West Lebanon.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the West Lebanon Cemetey with the Rev. Donald Jeffrey officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or to the Holy Redeemer Church, Maple St, W. Lebanon, NH 03784.

Survivors include: a son, Brent Packard of Millsboro, DE; two grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Robert Archie Packard, Sr.

Enfield, NH–Robert Archie Packard, Sr., 53, died on Wednesday, November 29, 1995 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.  The son of Donald A. and Dororthy F. (Decato) Packard, he was born on July 17, 1942 in Hanover, NH.  He has resided in the Lebanon-Enfield area all his life and was a graduate of Lebanon High School class of 1960.  He was married to Marilyn Morin on July 4, 1959.  Mr.  Packard worked as a truck driver most of his life.  He had been a mechanic for Decato Brothers Trucking for several years.  He also worked for the City of Lebanon Highway Department as a truck driver and a snow plow operator.  He later became a self-employed subcontractor as a truck driver-snow plow operator for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department.  For the past 25 years he has driven his truck for Lebanon Crushed Stone.  He was a member of the Future Farmers of America and served on the Enfield Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.  He was involved in area stock car racing from 1959 until the loss of his leg in 1994.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Enfield on Friday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. and Friday evening from 7-9 p.m.  A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St.  Helena’s Church in Enfield.

Survivors include:  his wife, Marilyn Packard of Enfield, NH; his mother, Dorothy F. Packard of Lebanon, NH; a son, Mark Packard of Orange, NH; a sister, Marie Jenkins of Lebanon, NH; five grandchildren, plus aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A.  Packard who died in 1983 and a son, Robert A.  Packard Jr.  who died March 6, 1991.
