Ethel May Tibbets

Lebanon, NH–Ethel May Tibbets “Tootie” Tibbits, 75, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 1994 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Ctr. in Lebanon, NH.  She was born in Jamaica, VT July 7,1919, the daughter of the late Delmar & Phoebe (Lackey) Stone.  She was married to the late Forrest Tibbits July4, 1939 and had been a resident of this area since 1946.  She had worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aide at the Alice Peck Day Extended Care Facility in Lebanon, and was a member of the Lebanon Eagles.

There were no calling hours.  Graveside services were conducted Thursday afternoon, Dec. 29th at 1 p.m. in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.  The Ricker Funeral Home of Lebanon was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include: a son, Delmar Tibbits of Spartansburg, SC; a son James Tibbits of Enfield Ctr.; a son, Richard Tibbits of Canaan; a son, William Tibbits of Canaan; a son, Harry Tibbits of Enfield Ctr.; a daughter, Carol Moodie of East Plainfield; a son, Paul Tibbits of Canaan; a daughter, Marie Wolfson of Enfield; a son, Thomas Tibbits of Lebanon; a sister, Freda Day of Fairlee, VT; a brother, Albert Stone of Lebanon; a brother, William Stone of Wilder, VT; 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Forrest Tibbits; and four brothers, Delmar Stone, Lyman Stone, Clifton Stone and Harry Stone.
