James M. Gerrish

Enfield, NH–James M. Gerrish, 81, of Enfield died on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the Hanover Terrace Healthcare Center in Hanover, NH. He was born on December 6, 1921 in Winter Harbor, ME a son of Gilbert and Ethel Gerrish. He grew up in Winter Harbor and graduated from high school there. On July 26,1942 he was married to Gloria Grey before he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge as a Sergeant in 1945 they settled in Walpole, MA where they made their home for 38 years. Mr. Gerrish had been employed by the Fimble Door Co. until his retirement in 1985. The Gerrish’s made their summer home on Crystal Lake in Enfield for many years before retiring permanently there in 1985. He was an avid golfer and a member of The Carter Golf Club in Lebanon.

He is survived by his wife Gloria of Enfield; five children: James M. Gerrish, Jr. of Walpole, MA; Gregory B. Gerrish of Franklin, MA; Karen Hall of Enfield; Debra H. Gerrish and Cameron L. Gerrish both of Norton, MA; a sister, Queenie Joy of Franklin, ME; two half-brothers; two half-sisters; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Friday at 2:30 pm at the Ricker Funeral Home on US Route 4 in Enfield, NH.
