Kenneth “Pete” Peterson

Enfield, NH–Kenneth “Pete” Peterson, 71, died Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born in Morrisville, PA May 8, 1931, a son of the late George and Hazel (Bickel) Peterson Jr. He grew up in Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On July 25, 1966 he was married to Shirley Chase in Maryland. They made their home in Enfield Center following their marriage. He was employed as a tractor trailer driver for Daniel’s Transportation on a mail route. He also had worked at Ward Baking-Tip Top Bakery in White River Jct., VT and for St. Johnsbury Trucking. He later worked at Dartmouth College retiring from there in 1990. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping with his family and was an avid fisherman.

He was predeceased by a brother: Lou Peterson; and 4 sisters: Mary Jane Peterson, Mary Ann Peterson, Ethel Peterson and Elizabeth Peterson.

He leaves his wife: Shirley Peterson of Enfield Center, NH; 6 children: Diana McDonald of NJ, Lorraine Byard of NJ, Claire Brown of CA, “Peanut” Gray of West Lebanon, NH, Joseph Peterson Sr. of Sarasota, FL and Katrina Durkee of Thetford, VT; a sister: Adeline Pone of Bristol, PA; a brother: Ralph Peterson of Dade City, FL; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School St. in Lebanon, NH Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at 10 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Warner officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery in Enfield, NH.
