Jennifer Lyn Smith

West Lebanon—Jennifer Lyn Smith, 23, died Friday, May 13, at her home in West Lebanon.

She was born on April 5, 1971 in Lebanon, the daughter of Richard A. Clark of Lebanon and Cheryl Devault of Phoenix, AZ.

She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1989 where she enjoyed gymnastics.  She was a devoted mother and she also greatly enjoyed serving people as a nurse’s aide.  She will be greatly missed by many of her clients, who were refreshed by the warmth of her care.  At the time of her death she was employed by the Visiting Nurse Alliance of New Hampshire and Vermont.

She had lived for over four years in West Lebanon with her husband, Sasha K. Smith, their son, Damian, and daughter, Desiree Ann.

In addition to her parents, she leaves her grandparents, Arthur and Alma Clark of Lebanon; a brother, Dana Clark of Keene; two uncles; Philip Clark of Lebanon and Sidney Clark of Charleston, SC; three aunts; Judi Chatman of Dover, Jean Townsend of Canaan, and Suzanne Clark of Hanover; a great-aunt, Ruth Clark Hastings of Denver, CO; and cousins; Shelli Chatman of Dover, Sundari and Christopher Meacham of Canaan, and Ian Clark of Enfield.

A private memorial service was held at the home of her father- and mother-in-law, Donald and Raymona Sharkey, in Sharon, Vt, on Sunday, May 22.

Marion LaFountain

Marion LaFountain, 85, died Tuesday evening October 19 at the Alice Peck Day Extended Care Facility in Lebanon, NH.  She was born in Franklin, NH May 31, 1908, the daughter of the late Roscoe B. & Bessie S. (Morrill) Smith,  She was a resident of Canaan, West, Canaan, and Enfield most of her life and attended local schools.  For many years she worked as a spinner in the American and the Baltic Woolen Mills.  She loved to do needlework, and was a  member of Pomona Grange for over 50 years.  She was married to William A. LaFountain June 1, 1983.

Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home, Route 4 in Enfield Friday evening from 7-9 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday Morning at 10 A.M. in St. Helenas Church of Enfield.  Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: husband, William A. LaFountain, Enfield, NH; brother, Howard Smith, Newport, NH; several nieces and nephews.

 

Malcolm J. Smith

Malcolm J. Smith, 71, died Friday afternoon September 10, 1993 at the Veterans Hospital in White River Jct.  He was born May 2, 1922 in Bridgewater, VT, the son of Perley and Iva (Royce) Smith.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  We was married to Thelma Bartlett in 1945 in Lebanon and the have lived in Hartford most of the time since.  He worked at Green Mountain Box and Lumber Co. in White River Jct.  He was a member of the Hartford post #26 American Legion.

He leaves his wife of Hartford, two sons, Robert Stone of Lebanon, NH, Malcolm Smith Jr. of Springfield MA, five daughters, Judith Mossey of Hartford, VT, Louise Woodworth of Barre, VT, Freda Grace of Canaan, NH, Rose Hollins of Enfield, NH, Ann Steller of Orange, NH, 16 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Perley Smith of Bradford, VT and Wendall Smith of Stratford, CT, two sisters, Madeline Kilton of Canaan, NH, and Shirley Oldenburgh of Daytona Beach, Fl and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in West farms Cemetery in Canaan, NH
