Elfriede Frankle

Grafton, N.H. – Elfriede Frankle, 78, died July 27, 1994 in Pforzheim, Germany while visiting family.  She was born in Niefern, Germany Sept. 45, 1915, the daughter of the late Adolf & Lydia (Nagel) Ruck.  She immigrated to the United States with her family in January of 1955.  She had lived in Grafton, NH for the last 17 years and had been a volunteer at the Canaan Senior Center for several years.  She enjoyed traveling and was visiting her sister in Germany at the time of her death.  She was the widow of Richard Frankle who died December 22, 1988.

There were no calling hours.  A memorial service was conducted Saturday, August 20, at 11 a.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home in Enfield, the Rev. William Newhall officiated.

Survivors include: a son, Bernd Frankle of Basking Ridge, NJ; a daughter, Petra Gunnerson of Canaan; a sister, Liesel Huber of Dover; s sister, Trudel Ruck of Niefern, Germany; a sister, Lore Brunn of Neustadt, Germany; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceeded in death by her husband, a sister, and a brother.

John F. Thomas

Grafton, NH – John F. Thomas, 32, died Monday in Grafton.

Mr. Thomas moved to Grafton 14 years ago and had been self-employed as a satellite technician and also in the construction trade.  He was a member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department.

He was born in Cambridge, Mass on May 29, 1962, the sun of Joseph F. and Eleanor (Francis) Thomas, Sr.  He graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in 1980.

Mr. Thomas was employed by J. F. Thomas and Sons Moving Co. in Cambridge for several years, living in East Cambridge.

Survivors include a son, John  F. Thomas, Jr. of Cambridge, Mass; his parents, of Grafton, NH; two sisters, Renee E. Nagle of Plymouth, Mass, and Paula Webster of Grafton, two brothers, Joseph F. Thomas, Jr. of Webster, NH, and James F/ Thomas of Grafton; the mother of his son, Susan Povio of Cambridge, Mass; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Burial was held in Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton.  Memorial contributions may be made to Farnum Center, 235 Hanover, St. Manchester, NH 03104.

Francis G. “Frank” LaLiberte

Grafton, N.H. — Francis G. LaLiberte, Chief of Police in Grafton, NH, died June 16 at the VA Medical Center in Hartford, Vt.  He was born March 19, 1932, in Swanzey, NH, the son of Romeo LaLiberte and Eunice Rose Stone.  He attended school in Worcester, Mass.  Mr. LaLiberte was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and received a Bronze Star.  He lived in Gardner, Mass., for many years, where he was employed as a construction supervisor for Michael Haas Construction Co.  He moved to Grafton in 1976.

Mr. LaLiberte was a member of the VFW of Gardner, Mass, and the American Legion of Gardner and Grafton.

Survivors include is his wife, Eileen McKeon LaLiberte and his son, Michael Francis LaLiberte of Grafton, five brothers, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.  Graveside service was held Monday, June 20, at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton with full military honors.

Howard Archie Seamans

Grafton, N.H. –Howard A. Seamans, 72, died Saturday evening May 21, 1994 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River, Jct., Vt.  He was born in Grafton, NH Jan. 28, 1922, the son of the late Archie L. & Carrie (Walker) Seamans.  He attended local schools and was a U.S. Army AirCorps Veteran of WWII.  He was married to Thelma (Hall) on July 1, 1945.  He has resided in Grafton all his life and was employed by Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon as a machinist until his retirement in 1988.  He was a member of the American Legion; the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the National Rifle Association; the N.H. Trappers Association; and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the East Grafton Congregational Church.  Burial followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton, N.H.

Survivors include: his wife, Thelma (Hall) Seamans of Canaan; stepmother, Sadie Seamans of West Canaan; a daughter, Sandra Barker of Enfield; a son, Thomas Seamans of Grafton; a daughter, Anita Seamans of Grafton; a son, Alan Seamans of Grafton; a daughter, Elaine Stone of Enfield; a son, Howard “Chip” Seamans of Grafton; a sister, Velma Hines of Canaan; a brother, Robert Seamans of Concord; a sister, Phebe Belloir of West Canaan; a brother, Kernal Seamans of Canaan; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

The Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon was in charge of arrangements.

Archie Earl Morse

Archie Earl Morse, 83, died Thursday evening July 22, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon following a long illness.  He was born in Grafton, NH November 29, 1909, the son of the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Martin) Morse.  He had worked as a farmer all of his life and had attended the Community Lutheran Church of Enfield.  He enjoyed animals and loved country music and dancing.  During his last illness he was cared for by his niece Patricia Shin and his grand-niece Angela Dimond at their home in Enfield, NH.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon.  Burial was in the Pine grove Cemetery in Grafton, NH.

Survivors include: Brother, Edwin Morse, of Grafton, NH, sister, Ada Sleeper, Enfield, NH, sister Verna Bocash, Enfield, NH, grand-niece Angela Dimond, of Enfield, NH, and several other nieces and nephews.
