Frederick Fields Adams

Lebanon, NH–Frederick Fields Adams, 67, died July 1,1995 at his home on 61 Spencer St in Lebanon, NH.  The son of Fred and Mary (Fields) Adams, he attended Etna and Lebanon schools and was a graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1946.  He entered the U.S. Army Air Force serving with the 82nd Fighter Wing during WWII.  He was married to Thelma Goodwin on April 10, 1948.  He was self-employed as a general contractor, brick mason in the Upper Valley since 1948.  He worked as a foreman on several buildings for Dartmouth College, Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, and was well known for the many fireplaces he constructed throughout the Upper Valley.  He was a member of the Lebanon Lodge of Elks, the American Legion of Lebanon and the Brick Masons Union where he served as corresponding secretary for 30 years.

Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church on School St in Lebanon with the Rev. Ronald Messer officiating.  Burial followed in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.  The family requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Visiting Nurse Alliance of NH & VT, Mount Support Road, Lebanon, NH.

Survivors include:  his wife, Thelma Adams, of Lebanon; his mother, Mary Adams of Lebanon; a son, John Adams of Mansfield, MA; a daughter, Patti Adams Wadsworth of Grantham; a daughter, Nancy Gerow of Lebanon; a daughter, Jodie Batchelder of Richmond, VT; a brother, Roger Adams of Lebanon; a brother, James Adams of Etna; a sister, Rita White of Lebanon; a sister, Jane Batchelder of Lebanon; a sister, Judy Thompkins of Wilder, VT; three grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
