Enfield, NH–Maurice A. Dessert, 77, died Saturday, October 28, 1995 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a long illness. He was born Lebanon, NH April 24, 1918, the son of the late Henry & Marie (Lambert) Dessert. He was married to Barbara Sherwood (Follansbee) April 29, 1946. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of St. Helena’s Parish of Enfield; the Montcalm Grange; The Enfield Historical Society; and a former member of the Piermont Fire Department. He had been employed as a woodman; a former; and retired as a custodian for Dartmouth National Bank in 1983. Mr. Dessert always enjoyed entertaining family and friends at his camp in Newbury, VT.
Friends called at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday morning at St. Helena’s Church in Enfield with a burial following in the Lakeview Cemetery in Enfield.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Dessert were made to the Enfield F.A.S.T. Squad.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara S. Dessert of Enfield, NH; a son, Gui Dessert of White, GA; Everett Dessert of Woodstock, GA; a daughter, April Massarene of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Aleta Sinclair of Broken Arrow, OK; a daughter Cecilia Dessert of Brattleboro, VT; a daughter, Elise Hartman of Milford, PA; a brother, George Dessert of New Haven, CT; a brother, Rene Dessert of Meriden, NH; a brother, Francis Dessert of Lebanon, NH; a sister, Agnes Colburn of Orange City, FL; a sister, Evelyn Drake of Zephyrhillis FL; a sister, Edwidge Potter of Concord, NH; a sister, Teresa Poissant of Long Beach, CA; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews.
