Troy, NH–Louis N. Auger was born in Troy, NH, on November 21, 1929, and died at the age of 69 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on April 17, 1999 at 7:00 am.
He attended Troy schools and was a graduate of Keene High School, class of 1949. In 1950 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean conflict. Following discharge in 1953, he returned to Troy and was married to Phyllis Ward. He worked for 35 years as a machinist for Fellows Gear Shaper in Springfield, VT, returning as a foreman. In 1980 he was married to Angelina Meyerhofer and they made their home in Springfield, VT, before moving to New Jersey where he worked at Classic Frames. They moved back to the Upper Valley in 1987 and he worked at Split Ball Bearing until 1994. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus of Springfield and a member of the 4th Degree. He was a 19 year member of the Canaan Assembly of God Church in Canaan and was a member of the Men’s Ministry. Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home on School Street in Lebanon on Tuesday evening, April 20, from 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Canaan Assembly of God Church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm. with Dr. David Baker, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Street Cemetery.
Survivors include: Wife, Angelina Auger, of Canaan; Sons, Michael and Brian Auger, of New Port Richey, FL, and David Auger, of Port Charlotte, FL. Daughters, Marcia-Jean Auger, of Trilby, FL and Joanne Purington, of Springfield, VT; Stepdaughter Suzanne Winchester of Grantham, stepson Stephen Ruskuski, of Mexico, 8 grandchildren, a brother, Leo Auger, of Keene, and Sisters: Gloria Auger, of Lexington, MA; Rita Auger and Aline Brailey, of Keene, and many nieces and nephews.
