Enfield, NH–Germaine C. Schmanska, 61, died Thursday, October 21, 1999 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born in Lebanon, NH August 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Roscoe “Duke” & Irene (Gaudette) Jenney. A lifelong resident of Enfield, she was a graduate of Enfield High School and received her teaching degree from Plymouth State College. She went on to teach in the Lebanon School system, and the Cardigan Mountain School. She was later employed by Church’s Children Store in Hanover. Germaine enjoyed travel and crafts, and was an active member of the Community Lutheran Church of Enfield. She was also involved in various community activities and the Upper Valley/Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission.
She was married to Ralph B. Schmanska on June 27, 1959.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm in the Comminity Lutheran Church of Enfield, NH with the Rev. John Crilley officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Community Lutheran Memorial Fund, PO Box 450, Enfield, NH 03748.
The Ricker Funeral Home of Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
