Charles H. Lester

Canaan, NH–Charles H.  Lester, 81, died at his home in Canaan Sunday, July 21, 1996.  He was born in Weston, VT July 19, 1915 the son of the late Charles Felix & Flora Jane (Bolster) Lester and had been a resident of Canaan since 1945.  He retired as a salesman for Sanel Auto Paris.  He was an active member of the Canaan United Methodist Church.  In the last year he received his 50 year pin as a member of the Social Summit Lodge #50.  He loved guns and was a long time member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).  He was a strong supporter of the Mascoma Senior Center and their Meals On Wheels Program.

There were no calling hours.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ricker Funeral Home of Lebanon, NH.

Survivors include:  Sons:  Charles Russell Lester, Canaan, NH and Neal Dustin Lester, Concord, NH; a daughter, Sheryl Ann Austin, Canaan, NH; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Knuckey) Lester, who died in 1993.
